This course is designed for anyone who is totally new to plant tissue culture and wants to understand the basics from the ground up.

Plant tissue culture is a technique used to grow plant cells, tissues, or organs under sterile conditions on a nutrient culture medium. It plays a major role in plant propagation, biotechnology, and research.

At the end of this course, you will understand how plant tissue culture works and where it can be applied. The topics covered include:

• Media Preparation and Stock Solutions
• Stages of Micropropagation
• Somaclonal Variation


This course has 5 modules. The modules are:

• Somaclonal Variation

Participants need to complete each module before they are eligible to proceed to the next one. Make sure that all the requirements in a particular module are completed.

When each module is complete, the completion status bar (at the top of the course) will change from blue to green. When all blocks on the bar turn green, it means you’ve completed the course.

Throughout all modules, there are 14 questions placed between notes to strengthen your understanding. These questions are called "pop quiz." So, there will be 14 pop quizzes throughout the course. Don’t worry—they’re simple and meant to help you!

 

At the end of each module, there will be a simple assessment. Try to score as well as you can. There is also a final assessment at the end of the course.
