Define price adaptation
Assalamualaikum and good day, students,
Today, we are going to learn about a very interesting topic in pricing — Price Adaptation.
So, what is Price Adaptation?
Price adaptation means adjusting the price of a product or service to suit different situations, markets, or customers. In simple words, it means we don't always sell the same product at the same price everywhere. Businesses must be flexible to meet different needs and market conditions.
Let me give you an easy example.
Imagine KFC in Malaysia. The price of a snack plate in Kuala Lumpur might be a bit different from the price in Alor Setar or Kota Kinabalu. Why? Because of different costs of rent, delivery, and local income levels. That is an example of location-based price adaptation.
Another example — during Ramadan, many shops and online platforms offer special discounts or bundle promotions. That’s called seasonal price adaptation.
By adjusting prices this way, companies can attract more customers, stay competitive, and increase their sales in different markets.
So always remember — price adaptation helps businesses survive and grow by being flexible and smart about their pricing strategies.
Thank you!
