This course introduces students to the fundamental process of site analysis in architectural design. It focuses on developing the ability to collect, interpret, and synthesize information about a site to support informed and responsive design decisions. Students will learn to observe and analyze both macro and micro contexts, covering physical, environmental, social, and sensory aspects of the site.

Through guided activities, virtual explorations, and practical exercises, students will develop skills in data collection, mapping, evaluation, and design response formulation. Emphasis is placed on understanding the relationship between a site’s characteristics and its impact on architectural form, orientation, and spatial organization.

By the end of this course, students will be able to produce a comprehensive site analysis report that demonstrates their ability to translate contextual understanding into meaningful design strategies.
