Distinguish four elements to make pricing analysis
a. Competitors
b. Cost
c. Prices
d. Offers

ENOTES

"Alright students, let’s talk about something very important in pricing analysis — the four main elements you must always look at: Competitors, Cost, Prices, and Offers.

First, we have Competitors. This means you must check what other businesses are doing. For example, if you're selling bubble tea in KL, look at how Tealive or Chatime price their drinks. You don’t want your price to be too high or too low — it must be competitive.

Second, we look at Cost. Always know how much it costs to make your product. If your ingredients, cups, and rent cost you RM3 per cup, you need to price your drink higher than RM3 to make profit.

Third, we look at Prices — this is your actual selling price. You need to decide: will you use a high price for premium image? Or low price to attract more customers? For example, FamilyMart may price their drinks lower to attract everyday buyers.

Last, we look at Offers. These are promotions to attract customers. Like 'Buy 1 Free 1', or 'RM2 discount on weekdays'. Even big brands in Malaysia like McDonald's do this to boost sales.

So remember: know your competitors, control your costs, set the right prices, and give smart offers. That’s how you do strong pricing analysis."
