ENOTES

"Dear Students,"

Today, let’s talk about Promotional Pricing. This means setting prices or offering deals for a short time to attract more customers and boost sales.

a. Special Event Pricing

This is when businesses reduce prices during special occasions like Hari Raya, Merdeka Sale, or Malaysia Day.
Example: AEON or Shopee offers big discounts during Hari Raya to increase sales.

b. Cash Rebates

This is when customers get back a certain amount of money after buying a product.
Example: Proton gives RM3,000 cash rebate if you buy a new car before the end of the month.

c. Low-Interest Financing

This means offering products like cars or electronics with very low or 0% interest rate instalment plans.
Example: Courts Malaysia offers “0% interest for 24 months” when you buy furniture.

d. Longer Payment Term

Customers are allowed to pay over a longer time period.
Example: Buying a refrigerator from Harvey Norman and paying over 12 months instead of 6.

e. Warranties and Service Contract

This is when companies add extra value by offering free repair or service for a longer time.
Example: Samsung gives 2 years of warranty plus 1 year screen protection for free with phone purchase.

These strategies help businesses attract more buyers and stay competitive in the market.
